- The official Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event invites have now gone out and with just over a week left for the official announcement, we pretty much know everything there is to know.
What's up guys, Ak here And we're going to break down all of the leaks and room is super sassed out to give you guys a very good idea of what to expect. Now, there have been lots of leaked images and videos, as well as lots of concepts, and from all of these, we can see that the design does look overall quite similar to the Z Fold 2. Although there are some key differences, we do have more flatter edges, it seems, and the camera module is also quite different. We've got more of a rectangular camera module on the Z Fold 2, on the Z Fold 3, it's going to be more in line, similar to what we've seen on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.
It looks like there will be three color options are black and olive green as well as white, on in terms of the overall size and dimensions, it will be quite similarto the Z Fold 2, although it will be slightly smaller and slightly thinner. We have seen some leaked information from a TENAA Certification, which does give us the exact dimensions of the Z Fold 3. The most interesting thing about the built and design, however, is the fact that the Z Fold 3 will have IPX8 water resistance.
So what does the IPX8 rating mean? Well the X means that it's not going to be completely dust resistant. Although Samsung has made some adjustments to the hinge design from the flip, as well as the Z Fold 2, so less does actually gets in. I personally had any issues with Z Fold 2, but the 8 means that you will be able to submerge the Z Fold 3 into water, up to one meters for 30 minutes.
Now this has been confirmed by reputable leaker, Evan Blass as well as Max Weinbach. And this is pretty impressive considering that we do have lots of moving parts, how Samsung has managed to make the Z Fold 3, water resistant is very, very impressive.
I can't wait to see the specific details of how they've achieved this. The sizes for the displays are pretty much the same as what we had on the Fold 2, so a 6.2 inch cover display, and then a 7.6 inch primary foldable display. Now there are some key changes here, however.
So in the Fold 2, we only had the 120 Hertz refresh rate for the main display.
The cover display was so, 60 Hertz. Now with the Fold 3, we are likely to have 120 Hertz for both the cover, as well as the main display. So it will be nice to have that consistency.
Now here's the very interesting part, so the cover display, it seems like we're still going to have a punch out for the selfie camera.
This will be 10 megapixels, but it looks like the main camera on the foldable display will be dropping in resolution to just four megapixels, according to Evan Blass. Now you may be wondering why is Samsung taking a step back because, on the Fold 2, we had 10 megapixel front-facing cameras on both the cover as well as the main foldable display. Well, it seems like the reason for this lower resolution is because the inner camera will be under the display.
Now Samsung have managed to achieve this. This is absolutely awesome. We have seen some implementations of under display cameras, so you don't get any interruptions, however, these cameras have not been great. Now, why would this just be four megapixels? Well, because the technology is so new.
Maybe you can't get that larger size of a sensor underneath the display. And also considering we already have the front-facing camera on the cover display, as well as the rear-facing cameras, which you can use as selfie cameras. If you use the cover displays the view finder, the camera on the main display, when you have things folded out, will likely just be used for conference calling. And four mega pixels is more than enough for 1080p video. Now for the rear-facing cameras, we do have a triple refacing camera sets up these rumor to all be 12 megapixels likewe had in the Fold 2.
We don't have any information about the census yet. Of course, we can assume that we're going to have an ultra wide, a primary as well as a telephoto camera. The Fold 2 has excellent cameras. So I'd expect the Fold 3 to also have very good cameras. We don't have any Periscope zoom cameras and things like that. I'd assume this is to keep the size small and having a Periscope camera does add to thickness of the device. The Fold 3 is already a pretty thick device because of the folding technology. So adding things like the Periscope zoom camera would add to the thickness.
Now, what will the Z Fold 3 be powered by? Well, it looks like we will be getting the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip sets. Now the 888+ has been announced, but it seems like this won't be here on the Z Fold 3. Neverthe less, the 888 is still very capable.
And according to leaker, Ice universe, we will have better heat management on the Z Fold 3, which will allow for better sustained performance. And it's also going to help towards long gaming sessions. For RAM, it looks like we will have upto 12 gigabytes of RAM with up to 512 gigabytes of storage,so this is once again, similar to what we have seen on the Z Fold 2.
Moving onto the battery. It looks like we're going tohave a slightly smaller battery compared to the Fold 2, so what this will be 4,440 million powers compared to the 4,500 that we had.
Now, this has also been confirmed by the certification. The battery is going to be split in two. The Fold 2 has given me really good battery life. So I'd also expect good battery life on the Fold 3, there's not really been much information around charging, but I would expect the chargingto be similar to what we've seen on the S21 Ultra, so 25 Watts wide charging with 15 Watts wireless charging, potentially also, reverse wireless charging.
Now whether or not the wired charger will be included in the box, that's still a bit of a question mark. So we're going to have to wait and see. Now I want to save some of the best towards the end. And one of the most exciting things for me personally is the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have support for the S Pen. Now, according to Evan Blass, this will be for the S Pen Proas well as the Fold edition S Pen. Now the S Pens will be optional, which you will have to buy separately. They're not going to come included with the Z Fold 3. There is no space within the device itself to house the S Pen like we have on the Note series. But like we had with the S21 Ultra, you will be able to get cases where you can house the S Pen. And we've seen some leak renders of an official case from 91 Mobiles showing where you can have the S Pen. Now this will be really interesting to see in hand because a regular S Pen could potentially scratch the main display.
So let's see what Samsung have done to enable this. The Fold edition S Pen might have something a little bit different to let it right on that foldable display and considering the fact that there will be no Samsung Galaxy Note series this year because of limited supplies, it will be nice to have the S Pen support on the Z Fold 3. Right, what about pricing? Well, we don't have any specifics fix around pricing as yet. However, rumors are that the pricing will have calmed down compared to the Fold 2, now,if you look at the Fold 1, which started out around 205519.00 rupees, the Fold 2 did come in around 20551 Rupees cheaper.
So I would expect the Fold 3 to come in lower compared to the Fold 2, so maybe around the ₹164415, ₹174691 price mark, which does seem like quite a bit, but if we do compare it to say,the 512 gigabyte version of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, which goes for on 143863 ₹ for a foldable device with two displays, that does seem pretty reasonable. And the official announcement has of course been confirmed for the 11th of August. Generally, Samsung does release devices a couple of weeks after the announcement, so expect to have the Z Fold 3 in stores towards the end of August. Now, of course, as soon as the announcement has happened.
Along with the Fold 3 announcement, there was also going to be another device announced that is the Samsung galaxy Z Flip 3.
Now I wanted to be just about the Fold 3, but if you are interested in finding out all the details about the Z Flip 3, then drop me a comment below and let me know, and I'll get working on that as soon as I can. What did you guys think of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3? Are you guys excited about it?
Price of Z fold 3 will be around 133k and Z flip 3 will be 84,999 Rupees
Thank you...
