Discovery of cells

The history of the cell begins with the publication of the Classic work micrographia in London by ‘Robert hooke’ in 1665. the credit for discovery of cell goes to Robert hooke who observed a honeycomb like pattern in a very thin slice of cork.

The honeycomb like structure was made of enclosing box like compartments use the Latin term ‘cellulae’ for little compartments with hollow space, synonymous to what we call cells.

WHAT IS A FLOWER Flowers are the reproductive organ of the plants. they produce seeds from which new plant arise. A flower is a specialised shoot in which leaves are modified into floral whorls. It is borne at the tip of stalk called pedicel or pedncle. The flowers with pedicel are called pedicellate flowers. Flowers without a pencil are called sessile flowers.sometimes,the pedicel may bear two small green, leaf like structure called bracteoles. The the tip of a flower stalk expands into a Cup shaped fleshy swollen upper part called thalamus or receptacle. in it,nodes and internodes are highly condensed.
